About Katie

Katie Berger is the author of Time Travel: Theory and Practice and Swans (Dancing Girl Press, 2013, 2016). Her poems and prose have appeared in a number of publications. The most recent can be found here.
Katie obtained her BFA in creative writing and a graduate advanced writing certificate from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. In 2014, she earned an MFA in creative writing from the University of Alabama.
While at Alabama, in addition to her creative writing workshops, Katie completed extensive coursework in Composition/Rhetoric and TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). She taught English Composition 1 and 2 as well as Intro to Creative Writing. In the summer months, she served as a creative writing teacher and facilitator at several camps for high school students.
Katie has worked as a freelance copywriter, creative copywriter, after-school program teacher, public relations assistant, and higher ed success coach during her career. She is currently the advisor/coordinator for the Master of Arts in Critical and Creative Thinking at the University of Nebraska Omaha.
